REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Requirements: Basic knowledge of literacy and numeracy. Experience: Appropriate Experience in hospital cleaning or healthcare environment. inherent requirements of the Job: Ability to lift/move heavy objects and work at heights that require the use of a stepladder. Availability to work shifts, holidays, weekends, overtime and nights. have to. Relief in other departments when necessary. Competencies (knowledge/skills)Communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
DUTIES: Responsible for housekeeping duties i.e. sweeping, dusting, emptying dumpsters daily, mopping, scrubbing and polishing, window cleaning, deep toilet cleaning, general trash and medical waste management and maintenance of general cleanliness and hygiene (adhere to OHS and IPC policies). Make portions of food for the patient and clean dishes and cutlery (in accordance with HACCP principles and food service unit policies). effective use, maintenance and custody of supplies and equipment. Attend in-service training and provide support to the supervisor regarding general housekeeping duties Linen management (dirty clothes, soiled clothes, clean clothes, clothes counting, clothes room packing, etc.)
